(S)-Amphetamine hydrochloride is a stimulant drug that is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and depression. This drug has an effective dose of 5-30 mg/kg, which is administered through oral administration. It can also be given intravenously at doses up to 100 mg/kg. The safety profile of amphetamine is considered to be good and it has few side effects when taken in therapeutic doses.
