Product Information
- Ammonium-14N sulfate solution
- Nitrogen(+1) Tetrahydride Cation Sulfate
Ammonium-15N sulfate is a synthetic, non-natural amino acid. It is a high specific activity label that can be used to study protein synthesis in vivo. This isotope can be synthesized by the enzymatic assembly of 15N-labeled ammonium ions with unlabeled ammonium ions in solutions of pH 7.0 or higher. It will not react with any other components of the solution, and it is stable at pH 2.0 or lower. Ammonium-15N sulfate has been used to study protein synthesis in yeast cells, specifically the way that coagulation factors are expressed and assembled into complexes during blood clotting.
