Description:

Boc-Azetidine-3-carboxylic acid is a functionalized heterocyclic compound that can be synthesized by condensation of Boc-protected azetidinone and 2,4,6-trichlorobenzaldehyde. The synthesis of this molecule was accomplished in two steps. First, the Boc group was removed using trifluoroacetic acid and then the resulting carboxylic acid was condensed with 2,4,6-trichlorobenzaldehyde to give the desired product. Elemental analysis of the product showed that it contains one carbon atom, four hydrogen atoms, one nitrogen atom and one oxygen atom.

The syntheses of heterocyclic compounds are very common since they have a variety of interesting properties such as optical and electronic effects that make them useful for a wide range of applications. For example, Boc-Azetidine-3-carboxylic acid is used in spectroscopic experiments
