Product Information
4-Aminomethylbenzamidine dihydrochloride is a binder that binds to serine proteases, such as trypsin. It is used in the enzymatic assay of benzamidine, which is an important enzyme in the blood clotting process. 4-Aminomethylbenzamidine dihydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the protease activity of both expressed and purified serine proteases by binding to their active site. The binding of this molecule also inhibits the activity of other enzymes such as protein kinase and phospholipase A2. The bioreactor method is used to measure the inhibitory potency of 4-aminomethylbenzamidine dihydrochloride on various serine proteases. This method utilizes electrophoresis for monitoring kinetic profiles and quantifying the amount of substrate cleaved by each enzyme at different time points.
