The 4-Amino-6-chloropyrimidine-5-carbonitrile (4ACPC) is a new chemical entity that has been shown to have cytostatic properties in vitro. The compound is a potent inhibitor of lipid kinase and phosphatase activities and inhibits the proliferation of chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells. It is also active against prostate carcinoma xenografts and molt-4 cells, which are T-cell leukemia cells. 4ACPC has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vivo in models of prostate cancer and Molt-4 lymphocytic leukemia. The compound was orally administered as a single dose to mice bearing xenograft tumors, with no evidence of toxicity.
