4-Amino-3-chlorobenzotrifluoride is an antifungal agent that belongs to the group of anilines. It is a derivative of 3-phenoxybenzaldehyde, which has been shown to be active against fungi in laboratory tests. 4-Amino-3-chlorobenzotrifluoride is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of cetylpyridinium chloride, a surfactant with antifungal properties. This chemical can also be used as a fungicide for seed treatment and as a fumigant for stored grain. 4-Amino-3-chlorobenzotrifluoride has been shown to have no toxicity in Sprague Dawley rats.
