4-Aminobenzamidine hydrochloride is a growth factor that is specific to lung fibroblasts. It can be used to activate the biochemical properties of sephadex G-100 and collagen, which are proteins that are essential to the structural integrity of cells. 4-Aminobenzamidine hydrochloride stimulates biochemical reactions in lung fibroblasts by binding to an enzyme called proteinase. This leads to the activation of proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller units. The resulting small peptides stimulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and maturation. 4-Aminobenzamidine hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit collagenase activity in vitro and in vivo. This drug has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins from arachadonic acid by inhibiting the serine protease enzyme.
