Description

Activated carbon is a material that can be used for wastewater treatment. It is made of charcoal, which has been heated to high temperatures in the absence of oxygen. Activated carbon removes organic contaminants from water by adsorption. The process of adsorption involves the absorption of molecules from the liquid onto the surface of the activated carbon particles, which are then removed from the water.
