4-Aminoethylaniline is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that is used as a growth factor to study the uptake of dopamine in phytophthora megasperma. The reaction products of 4-aminophenyltetrazole with 2-adrenergic receptor have been studied by high-throughput analysis and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It has also been used to study the coordination chemistry between 4-(2-aminoethyl)aniline and fatty acids, which may be useful in treating heart disease. This compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking the 2-adrenergic receptor, which regulates cell division and differentiation.
