D-Aspartic acid dimethyl ester hydrochloride is a glycol that is used in the production of thin films and nanoparticles. When mixed with polyester, it can be used to produce esters that are resistant to water. D-Aspartic acid dimethyl ester hydrochloride is also an aminopropyl glycol, which is directional and can be used as a polymerization agent for ethylene. This chemical has been shown to have hydroxyl groups and these can be exploited in the production of nano particles by using it in conjunction with a particle dispersion agent such as diethylene glycol. Diethylene glycol can also be used as a solvent for other chemicals such as hydrochloric acid, causing this chemical to become waterproof.
