2-Amino-5-diethylaminopentane is a primary amino acid that belongs to the group of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is an airtight liquid with a pungent odor and a sweet taste. 2-Amino-5-diethylaminopentane has been shown to be effective in treating infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis C, and malaria. This compound has also been used in clinical studies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disorders. 2-Amino-5-diethylaminopentane inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosome at the peptidyl transferase center and also inhibits DNA synthesis by binding to the template strand of dna during replication. This compound is less toxic than other amines because it does not react with proteins or nucleic acids.
