4-Amino-1,1'-azobenzene-3,4'-disulfonic acid monosodium is a synthetic compound that can be used for different purposes. It has been validated to be an analytical method for the determination of chloride in water samples by ion chromatography. This compound can also be used as a sensor for chlorinated compounds and isomers. 4-Amino-1,1'-azobenzene-3,4'-disulfonic acid monosodium is an isomer of 1,2-diaminoethane sulfonic acid sodium salt. This compound has been found to have photoreceptor and photoinhibition activities in photosynthetic organisms such as algae. The recoveries were monitored using spectroscopy with a chloride ion monitoring system.
