Description

Cephazolin is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to 7-amino-3-(1,2,3-triazol-4-ylthio)methyl cephalosporanic acid (7AATMC), its active form. Cephazolin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is used for the treatment of bacterial infections. The sample solution of cephazolin can be prepared with phosphoric acid and sulbactam sodium. This solution needs to be monitored for impurities by RP-HPLC method. The impurities are detected by monitoring the elution time.
