Description:

C.I.Acid Red 17 is a colorant that belongs to the group of carboxylic acid dyes and is used in the textile industry and other dyeing applications. The hydroxyl group on C.I. Acid Red 17 binds to proteins in blood serum, which causes it to bind preferentially to hemoglobin over albumin or transferrin when present in human blood serum samples. C.I. Acid Red 17 has also been shown to bind to enzymes such as esterases, lipases, and proteases, as well as fatty acids such as caproic acid and fatty acids from natural sources such as detergent compositions (e.g., saccharomyces cerevisiae). It can be detected by various analytical methods including plasma mass spectrometry or surface methodology.br>END>>
