Product Information
7-Aminoquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione is a fluorescent probe that binds to ribosomal RNA in the microenvironment of the cell. It has been shown to bind to bacterial ribosomal RNA, but not mammalian ribosomal RNA. This agent has shown photophysical properties and fluorescence enhancement when bound to DNA. 7-Aminoquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione can be used as an antibiotic by transferring the drug from the probe into bacteria cells through the acceptor molecule.
