Product Information

Name:
H-D-Arg(Tos)-OH
Description:

H-D-Arg(Tos)-OH is a synthetic amino acid that has been shown to lower blood pressure. It is an agonist at the alpha2A receptor, which is a pharmacophore that stimulates the release of norepinephrine and epinephrine. H-D-Arg(Tos)-OH also acts as an antagonist at the alpha2B receptor, which is also a pharmacophores for blood pressure regulation. H-D-Arg(Tos)-OH mimics nicotine by binding to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the brain. This drug has been shown to reduce symptoms of hypertension, such as headaches, dizziness, and chronic fatigue. The structure of H-D-Arg(Tos)-OH can be modified by changing the c1-c10 alkyl group on its side chain to form analogs with different properties. A data base containing information about these analogs can be found here: https://www.ncbi
