Product Information
2-((4-amino-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl)methyl)-5-methyl-3-o-tolylquinazolin-4(3H)-one (2MPQT) is a potent antihypertensive agent that belongs to the class of quinazolines. This compound has been shown to reduce blood pressure in animals by binding to and activating the G protein receptor. The activation of this receptor inhibits the release of calcium ions from intracellular stores, which lowers intracellular calcium levels, leading to vasodilation and lowered blood pressure. 2MPQT has been tested for oral toxicity in rats and was found to have low toxicity. No adverse effects were observed at doses up to 2000 mg/kg. 2MPQT also has an acceptable safety profile when used as a sensor for monitoring changes in blood pressure
