Description

2-Amino-N-methylacetamide is a drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in animal models. It inhibits cancer cells by binding to metal hydroxides, which are necessary for cell division. This drug also binds to monoclonal antibodies and prevents them from binding with their target receptors on the surface of cancer cells. 2-Amino-N-methylacetamide is an amide inhibitor, which blocks protein synthesis by preventing the formation of disulfide bonds in proteins. The uptake of this drug into tumor cells is rapid and concentration dependent, suggesting that it may be used as an anticancer agent. 2-Amino-N-methylacetamide has not been studied in humans, but has shown acute toxicities in rats and mice at high doses.
