2-Amino-6-fluoropyridine is a synthetic compound that inhibits topoisomerase I and II. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. 2-Amino-6-fluoropyridine is a ligand for 5HT1A receptors and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. This drug can be synthesized by reacting phosphorus pentachloride with a Grignard reagent in the presence of fluorine, or by reacting an aminopyrimidine with an organometallic reagent. 2-Amino-6-fluoropyridine can be used orally for cancer therapy.
