Description:

1-Acetylcyclohexanol is a propargylic alcohol that is used as a raw material for the manufacture of other chemicals. It can be synthesized by refluxing this compound with an excess of mercuric oxide and sulfuric acid, followed by hydrolysis. The reaction proceeds with good yields, high purity, and excellent efficiency. The product can then be used as a starting material for the synthesis of various ketones.
