Description

1-Amino-2-phenyl-propan-2-ol is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water. It has a nucleophile property, which reacts with sodium sulfite to give the corresponding sulfonium salt. The reaction produces an analyzed crossover and ring opening at temperatures between -10°C and 30°C. 1-Amino-2-phenyl-propan-2-ol has a viscosity of 0.5 cP at 25°C, which can be measured using viscometry. Micelles form when 1-amino-2 phenylpropane 2 ole is added to water and sodium bisulfite, which are both surfactants, or detergents that lower the surface tension of liquids by adsorbing onto the surface of the liquid.
