Product Information

Name:
3-Amino-2-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-6-nitrobenzofuran
Synonyms:
  • (3-Amino-6-nitrobenzofuran-2-yl)(4-chlorophenyl)methanone
Description:

3-Amino-2-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-6-nitrobenzofuran is a class of drugs that are antagonists of the NMDA receptor. It has been shown to be an antagonist for the NMDA receptor, which is involved in cognition and memory. 3-Amino-2-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-6-nitrobenzofuran can be used to treat schizophrenia and other neurodegenerative disorders. This drug binds noncompetitively to the NMDA receptor, preventing the binding of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter, to its receptors. The substitution pattern on this drug allows it to act as a competitive antagonist.
