Description

2-Amino-5-methylbenzyl alcohol is a molecule that contains an amino group and a phenyl group. It is a sodium salt and can be used as an antibacterial agent. 2-Amino-5-methylbenzyl alcohol has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in a water solution by alkylating the water molecule, which is required for bacterial growth. The growth of bacteria can be inhibited by adding 2-amino-5-methylbenzyl alcohol to the water solution or by using it in combination with other chemicals such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). 2-Amino-5-methylbenzyl alcohol has been analysed using crystallography and X ray diffraction, showing that it has symmetry and is composed of particles.
