Synonyms:
  • 2-Amino-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid
  • 3,5-Pyridinedicarboxylic Acid, 2-Amino-
Description:

2-Amino-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid is a nucleophilic compound that can react with hydrated cyanide to form the corresponding aminonitrile. The reaction time of this reaction is short (about one hour) and it has been shown to be stable at room temperature. 2-Amino-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid has an analog in the form of 3,4-diaminopyridine, which can be synthesized from 2-amino-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid by reacting it with hydrochloric acid and nitrous acid. A supramolecular structure has also been observed for this molecule when reacted with phenoxy and n-oxide compounds. Crystals of this compound have been obtained by reacting trichloroacetonitrile with the 2,2'-bipyridine or 2,
