Description:

3-Aminopyridine-2-carboxylic acid amide is a metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) agonist with high affinity for the mGluR5 receptor subtype. It has been shown to act as an allosteric modulator of the mGluR1 and mGluR2 receptors. 3-Aminopyridine-2-carboxylic acid amide has also been shown to inhibit chemokine production by myceliophthora, an agent that causes mycosis in humans. This compound has also been shown to have inhibitory potency against drug targets such as serotonin transporter and dopamine transporter.
