Description

4-(Aminosulfonyl)benzenesulfonyl chloride is a cell cycle inhibitor that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting the proliferation of cells in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. It inhibits DNA synthesis and RNA transcription, which leads to cell death. 4-Aminosulfonylbenzenesulfonyl chloride has been shown to be more effective than chlorinating agents such as chloroform or trichloroethane at killing leukemia cells in mice. The drug has also been shown to have a high yield of 80% when synthesized from murine l1210 leukemia cells. This agent is an efficient inhibitor of the cell cycle and can be used to treat leukemia and other cancers.
