Description

1-Aminoanthracene is used as a fluorescent probe for receptor binding and has been shown to bind to α1-acid glycoprotein. 1-Aminoanthracene is also an odorant that binds to the olfactory mucosa and can be used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of asthma. This compound has been shown to bind to the surface of microbial cells, which may be due to its acyl chain structure. The compound has also been found to have structural analysis properties and enhancement properties in fluorescence assay experiments, although it was not able to demonstrate any biological properties in vitro. 1-Aminoanthracene has been found to form hydrogen bonds with lysine residues, which may account for its inhibition of protein target enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase.
