Description:

4-Amino-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid (ATFB) is an organocatalyst that is used in the synthesis of organic compounds. It has been shown to irreversibly react with thiourea and immobilized to a solid support, such as silica gel or alumina. ATFB is bifunctional and can be used in condensation reactions, such as the synthesis of polyphosphoric acid, to produce a low water reaction product. ATFB also reacts with monomers to produce a mediated polymerization product.
