Description:

Absinthin is a natural compound that is found in the leaves of Artemisia absinthium. It is an antioxidant and has demonstrated activity against trifluoroacetic acid-induced cytotoxicity in fetal bovine cells. Absinthin also inhibits arbidol hydrochloride-induced toxicity in erythrocytes, as well as arbidol hydrochloride-induced cytosolic Ca2+ accumulation. Absinthin also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of bowel disease, such as Crohn's Disease. Absinthin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
