Product Information
Ardisiacrispin A is a saponin that has been shown to be cytotoxic to cancer cells. It also has significant anticancer activity and restenosis prevention effects. Ardisiacrispin A inhibits the growth of cancer cells by triggering apoptosis, which may be caused by the inhibition of fatty acid metabolism. The anticancer activity of Ardisiacrispin A was confirmed by a pharmacokinetic study in rats, where it was found to have a short half-life and high bioavailability. The compound was extracted from the leaves of Ardisia crispa using ultrasonic extraction. This extract was then purified using preparative chromatography on an analytical column with silica gel and eluted with chloroform:methanol (2:1).
