Description:

2-Amino-2,3-dimethyl butyramide is a reactive compound that can be used to produce a variety of derivatives. It has been shown to react with hydrogen peroxide and dicarboxylates in the presence of an acid catalyst to produce a range of products. 2-Amino-2,3-dimethyl butyramide can also react with other compounds such as amines and alcohols in the presence of an acid catalyst to form secondary amides or esters respectively. The reaction rate for this compound is dependent on the concentration of hydration and temperature. The systematic name for 2-amino-2,3-dimethyl butyramide is 2-(aminomethyl)butyric acid diethyl ester. This compound is chemically related to the amino acid valine and has two chiral isomers.
