Description

1-Amino-4-methylpiperazine is a palladium complex that has been used as a disinfectant and to treat tuberculosis. It has been shown to have tuberculostatic activity in animal experiments and can be used for the treatment of tuberculosis in women. 1-Amino-4-methylpiperazine can be prepared as a solid dispersion by mixing with polymeric matrices. It shows good resistance to chlorinating agents, which may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds. The molecule is also highly polarizable, which allows it to bind strongly to phospholipids, making it effective against the bacteria that cause tuberculosis.
