Product Information
2-Aminopyridine-4-boronic acid pinacol ester (2APB) is a novel compound that inhibits the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which has been shown to be important in cancer. This compound and other related compounds have been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells, suggesting that they could be used as a therapeutic agent against certain cancers. 2APB is hydrophobic, which allows it to cross the cell membrane without being broken down by enzymes and activate EGFR on the inside of the cell. It also interacts with cellular proteins through hydrogen bonding interactions and van der Waals forces, which may allow for long-term treatment or resistance to develop.
