2-Amino-N,N-dimethylaniline is a redox agent that is used in the synthesis of a variety of heterocyclic compounds. It can be used as a ligand or an acetal group transfer reagent that can be used to prepare aromatic heterocycles. 2-Amino-N,N-dimethylaniline has been shown to have mechanistic properties that are related to alkylation and cross-coupling reactions. This chemical can also be used for preparative methods involving the use of halides and insoluble substances. 2-Amino-N,N-dimethylaniline has been shown to react with aromatic heterocycles such as quinoline and pyridine in order to form c-h bonds.
