2-Aminoisopheptane HCl is a glycan amine, which is a type of small molecule that contains both an amine and a sugar. It is used in the preparation of pentobarbital sodium, which is used as an anaesthetic. 2-Aminoisopheptane HCl has been found to be a potent inhibitor of glycosidases and may have potential as a chemotherapeutic agent for cancer. The monoclonal antibodies against 2-aminoisopentane HCl can be used in diagnostic assays to identify tumors, infectious diseases, and radiation exposure. The chemical structures of 2-aminoisopentane HCl and other related compounds can be determined using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
