Description:

Allyl trifluoroacetate is a reactive functional group with the potential to allylate a variety of substrates. It can be synthesized from the reaction of allyl bromide and trifluoroacetic acid. The optimum concentration for this reaction is 1.0 M, which is determined by kinetic data. Allyl trifluoroacetate has been used as a palladium catalyst in the synthesis of polymers and amines. This compound has also been used to activate superparamagnetic iron nanoparticles that are used as fluorescence probes.
