1-Acetoxy-3-fluorobenzene is a chemical compound that can be synthesized from acetyl chloride and fluorine. The photolability of this compound has been tested by irradiation with short-wave ultraviolet radiation. 1-Acetoxy-3-fluorobenzene is biodegradable and can be used in a variety of applications, such as in the reduction of polyurethanes. This chemical is also sustainable because it does not contain any heavy metals or other toxic chemicals. The activation energies for the reactions of 1-acetoxy-3-fluorobenzene are reported to be 12.6±0.8 kcal/mol and 9.6±1.2 kcal/mol, respectively, for the reactions with diethyl ether and crystallographic data (DCE).
