2-Acetamido-4-fluorotoluene is a synthetic molecule that is used as a neuroleptic, an intermediate in the synthesis of nitrile and n-oxide compounds. It also has potential metabolites, including 2-acetamido-4-fluoroaniline, 4-fluoro-2-(nitrosothio)aniline, and 4-(aminosulfonyl)-2-(nitrosothio)aniline. These metabolites may be converted to 2,4,5-trichlorophenol or 2,4,6-trichlorophenol through the process of sulfoxidation.
