Description:
2-Amino-5,6-Difluorobenzothiazole is a calcium-activated neuroprotectant that has been shown to lower blood pressure in vivo. It has potentiating effects on dilations of the carotid artery and lowers the membrane potential of cells. 2-Amino-5,6-Difluorobenzothiazole was found to have pharmacological effects in vitro and in vivo studies, which were most likely due to its ability to activate potassium channels. This drug also modulates benzothiazoles and can be used as a treatment for hypertension.
