It is used in the synthesis of amides and malonates. 3-Amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutyric acid can be used as an eluant for ion exchange chromatography. 3-Amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutyric acid also has a high recovery rate and can be purified by using hydroxide solutions and buffers.
