3-Amino-2-(2-fluorophenoxy)pyridine is a metabolite of a number of phenoxypyridines, including aminopyrine and aminopyrimidine. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of drug metabolism in rat microsomes. 3-Amino-2-(2-fluorophenoxy)pyridine is used as a radiolabel for labelling microsomes, which can then be used in the study of drug metabolism. 3-Amino-2-(2-fluorophenoxy)pyridine has also been shown to have antimicrobial properties, with some activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex.
