Description:
5-Amino-2-fluorobenzene sulfonic acid (5AFBSA) is a sulfonating agent that is used in the synthesis of organic compounds. 5AFBSA may be prepared by the reaction of sodium sulfite and 5-fluoro-2-nitroaniline with sulfuric acid, or by the reaction of chlorosulfonic acid with sodium hydroxide. This compound is an intermediate in the production of sulfate salts and diazonium salts. 5AFBSA can also be synthesized by hydrolysis of oleum.
