Product Information
- Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid 4-acetyphenyl ester
4-Acetylphenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (4APTS) is a triflate that can be used as a cross-coupling reagent in the synthesis of unsaturated ketones. It is prepared by the reaction of chloroacetyl chloride with 4-hydroxybenzene sulfonyl chloride. This compound is also used as an additive for chlorinated solvents, where it forms complexes with the chloride ion, which prevents hydrolysis and polymerization reactions. 4APTS can also be used to synthesize bonds between halides and unsaturated ketones. The addition of catalysts such as palladium or phosphine allows the bond cleavage to occur at lower temperatures than without them.
