Description

Acetyl-phenylalanyl trifluoromethyl ketone (APAK) is a reactive molecule that reacts with amides and stabilizes them. It is immobilized on a solid support, as well as being used in peptide synthesis to form homologous and constant molecules. APAK has been shown to react with hydrogen bonds and stabilize the fluorine atom. This molecule has been studied extensively using kinetic and thermodynamic techniques. The trifluoromethyl group makes it reactive, which allows for its use in enzyme catalysis.
