Product Information
- Potassium(3-acetylphenyl)trifluoroborate
(3-acetylphenyl)trifluoro-Borate potassium is a functional group that can be used in organic chemistry. It is an organotrifluoroborate, which is a compound containing a carbon tetrachloride molecule attached to a boron atom and three fluorine atoms. (3-acetylphenyl)trifluoro-borate potassium is toxic and should be handled with care. It can be made by reacting nitroso groups with tetrafluoroborate ions. The reaction is called nitrosation and can be done by two methods: 1) the nitrosonium ion reacts with the tetrafluoroborate ion, or 2) the nitrite ion reacts with boric acid to form the diazonium salt, which then reacts with the tetrafluoroborate ion.
