Synonyms:
  • N-Allyltrifluoroacetamide
  • 2,2,2-trifluoro-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)acetamide
Description:

N-Allyl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide belongs to the class of substances known as alkylating agents. It is a reactive chemical that can form covalent bonds with nucleophilic groups in other molecules and as such is able to react with many functional groups. N-Allyl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide has been shown to inhibit the inflammatory response by blocking the activation of neutrophils and macrophages. This agent also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The transport rate of N-Allyl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide has been demonstrated using radioactive tracer studies on rat liver slices.
