Product Information
N-Acetyl-S-(2-Bromo-2-Chloro-1,1-Difluoroethyl)-L-Cysteine (NACCDFC) is a reactive molecule that can be used as a marker for glutathione. The reaction of NACCDFC with glutathione generates a radical species that can be detected by electron spin resonance. NACCDFC has been shown to induce lipid peroxidation and DNA damage in isolated rat liver microsomes. This molecule also reacts with chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and dienes, leading to the formation of CFC derivatives and dienes, respectively. Cellular glutathione levels are affected by this reaction, which may lead to cellular dysfunction.
