(2R,3R,4S,5S)-2-(6-Aminopurin-9-Yl)-5-(Difluoromethyl)Oxolane-3,4-Diol is a synthetic compound that has been postulated to be a ligand for a yet unknown enzyme. It is synthesised by the reaction of fluorine and an electrophile such as chloride or bromide with an aminopurine derivative. The synthesis of this compound was first reported in 1974 by T. Yamaguchi et al. using fluorine and chloroacetyl chloride. This compound can be used as a substrate for an enzyme catalysed reaction when it is mixed with the enzyme in question and then heated at 100°C for 30 minutes. This interaction can be monitored by titration calorimetry or affinity chromatography.
