Description:
(2R)-2-Acetamido-3-(1,1-dichloro-2,2-difluoroethyl)sulfanylpropanoic acid (AFDAP) is an endogenous substance that is a substrate for the ATP dependent transport system. It is a nephrotoxin and has been shown to inhibit renal proximal tubule uptake. AFDAP inhibits cellular uptake of phosphate and chloroquine in primary culture cells. AFDAP also inhibits the activity of p450 enzymes and conjugates with glucuronic acid.
