Product Information
1H-Indene-3-carboxylic acid is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. It works by becoming protonated in the acidic environment of the cancer cell, which allows for hydroxyl ions to react with it. This reaction produces a molecule that can be detected by microscopy. 1H-Indene-3-carboxylic acid also reacts with sulfur trifluoride and Xylene at room temperature, producing a fluorescent product. The kinetics of this reaction have been studied using kinetic methods and found to be first order with respect to 1H-indene-3-carboxylic acid and second order with respect to both reagents.
1H-Indene-3-carboxylic acid has not yet been studied as an anticancer therapy or as an inhibitor of tumor growth.
